Leaving French Polynesia....

Time flies by… Last time we wrote, we were in French Polynesia, Tahiti and I was seriously sick, and there was a high chance of going under the surgery scalpel, but… I’ve got to do “only” the course for 6 weeks of 3 super strong atibiotics…

So what did we do??? After 3 weeks of Pacific crossing and months of very remote Marquesas and Tuamotu archipelagos we finally reached Tahiti – our first big Island with almost all civilization luxuries: big groceries stores with almost everything you can buy (although quite pricy as we expected), take a break from cooking from whatever you might or might not have due to extremely limited supplies in remote attols…

Then we visited Moorea – I think it’s the most beautiful island in Society Islands group – high mountains, blue/ turquoise lagoons, clean, upscale and not very touristy… Ken did a swim with whales there – I still was recovering after my illness and didn’t risk jumping into water…

Oh and we participated in Puddle Jumpers organized Tahiti - Moorea Rally and following party – that was fun!

Then followed Huahine – Ken’s favorite island, where we were exploring & just chilling with a very nice couple from SV Bella Marina. We did island tour there, which was epic!

Then there were Raietea & Tahaa - two islands next to each other with plenty of fun activities and great company...

Next was Bora Bora – WOW – my best ever snorkeling! So much fish, sharks, stingrays and Manta Rays!!!! Loved it, still have goose bumps remembering… And again – GREAT time with friends!

In Maupiti we visited local artist’s castle and soaked in paradise lagoons…

Our last stop in French Polynesia was Maupihaa – very remote and very rarely visited atoll with quite difficult entrance… But it was so worth it! And we almost got a traffic accident with whale...

During last 6 months we experienced so much – our longest ever (hopefully) passage via Pacific Ocean, most exotic locations and the this feeling when you in this most amazing place ever and there’s just us and another boat – our buddy boat we’ve travelled for a while… We tried new sorts of expensive beer, mainly Hinano, which we liked a lot, delicious Puason Cru – raw fish treated with lemon juice with some veggies and met so many nice people, who we believe will remain friends for life…
